Ercan ONGOR, M.D. is retired Professor in Ophthalmology. He was Director of the Retinal Disease and Angiography Branch and member of Ophthalmic Traumatology Branch at Eye Department of Istanbul Medical Faculty of University of Istanbul. He completed his residency training at Istanbul Medical Faculty of Istanbul University in 1975. Clinically, specializes in Retinal Disease and Traumatology. His Residency thesis is (Angiographic findings of Hematologic Disorders ) and for Associated Professorship (Trace elements of diabetic and non diabetic cataractous lenses, and correlation with blood values). His research includes studies in Retinal Diseases and Ocular Traumatology. He is the chapter editor of two books published in Turkey. He was Associate Editor of Turkish Journal of Ophthalmology between 1971-1992, and he was the Secretary General of Turkish Ophthalmological Society in 1976-1992 and President of T.O.Society between 1994 and 1995. He was the founder of Istanbul Branch of T.O.Society in 1976. He was the President of TOSociety Educational Committee from 1992 to 2006. Now he is Medical Advisor of Göz Nurunu Koruma Vakfi (Prevention of Eye Sight Foundation) Hospitals.
